In this tutorial you will learn how to use the Shaping tools in Corel Draw with samples. After reading this tutorial, you will know to use the Shaping tools like Weld, Trim, Intersect, Simplify, Front Minus Back, Back Minus Front, Create Boundary.

Shaping tools – Weld

This tool will combine all the selected objects into a single object with a single fill and outline. I’ve colored the result for better understanding.

Trim

With this tool you can cut out a part of an object by using the shape of another selected object. Weld and Trim are maybe the most used functions from the Corel Draw. You can use this functions to create simple or complicated objects.

Intersect

Select two or more objects and press Intersect. You will get a new object in the area where the objects overlap. The new object is the orange one.

Simplify

This function will trim overlapping areas among the objects. You can observ how the orange circle is cut out from the green one.

Front minus back

With this function you can remove the back portion of the object from the front object.

Back minus front

As you have guessed with this function you can remove the back portion of the object from the front object.

Create Boundary

By pressing the Create Boundary function when selecting two or more object you will get a new object that surrounding the selected objects.
